Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) is a species of plant from the family Lamiaceae, commonly called the "mint" or "deadnettle" family. The plant grows as a bushy herb, with erect stems reaching around 75 centimeters (2.5 ft) in height and bearing small, pale pink-white flowers. It is native to tropical regions of Asia.
I can make Your Candle, Wax Melt or Goat Milk Soap with this great Scent.
Once you're done with the candle jar, it'll have a little bit of candle left. Put the jar inside your freezer. Let it sit for at least an hour. I had forgotten about mine and left it in for days!
The cold temperature will cause the wax to shrink and loosen from the sides of the jar. Get a dull knife and carefully stab the wax to break it apart.
They come off easily! Trash or save the bits and pieces of candle wax for later use in a candle burner if you like.
Peel off the label. If there is label on the bottom of jar, peel off that, too.
Clean the remaining wax, glue, and soot.
Use a kitchen paper towel so you don't have to worry about leaving sticky stuff on your dish sponge.
Wax can be easily removed with vinegar, baby oil, olive oil, or orange solvent. I find that baby oil works great. It's also cheap.
Rinse out with soapy water and dry with paper towel.
Now you have a jar to reuse and put in anything your heart desires. :-))

1. Cleanses Gently Yet Deeply:
Goat milk soaps are handcrafted bar soaps that contain no harsh detergents or harmful chemical compounds. The lactic acid component of pure goat milk is known to play a key role in cleansing our skin by eliminating impurities. It also contains alpha hydroxy acids that break down the bonds between dead cells and remove the dull surface layer of the skin to give the skin a squeaky clean appearance. Moreover, these soaps are rich in natural ingredients, which work gently without causing excessive dryness.
2. Gives Healthy And Nourished Skin:
Goat milk is packed with vitamins, such as A, B1, B6, B12, C, D, E, etc., and minerals, such as zinc, copper, iron, selenium, etc. Apart from that it also includes fatty acids, amino acids, citric acid, antioxidants and enzymes. All these are needed not just for our body but are also important for our skin. However, the best part is that goat milk can penetrate the surface layer of the skin fast and provide each of our tissues sufficient amounts of nutrients. In short, regular use of goat milk soap can feed the skin and nourish it from within.
3. Keeps The Skin Soft And Moisturized:
Goat milk itself is an emollient or natural moisturizer that gets absorbed by the skin instantly and creates a moisture barrier to keep it soft, smooth and supple for a longer period of time. It is loaded with proteins, fatty acids and glycerine, which contribute to its super hydrating and moisturizing properties. Conversely, the creamy texture of the soap gives a luxurious softness by penetrating the upper layer of the skin and reaching the cracks and gaps formed between the cells quite easily.
4. Prevents Premature Aging:
Being rich in powerful antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, goat milk can keep our body free from the oxidative damages caused by free radicals. It also eliminates the layer of dead cells from the surface layer of our skin and reveals the new cell layers underneath. Both of these result into delayed aging and getting rid of premature signs of aging like the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and so on.
5. Keeps Skin Acne-Free:
According to experts, goat milk soap is capable of giving tough competition to any other anti-bacterial soap available in the market, especially when it comes to treating acne and blemishes. The milk proteins present in the products possesses amazing anti-microbial properties, which help prevent the growth of acne-causing bacteria and destroy the ones already on your skin.
6. Relieves Irritation And Inflammation:
Regular use of goat milk soap can be helpful in relieving the skin inflammation. Goat milk is known to have strong anti-inflammatory properties due to the presence of fat molecules in it. Besides, it does not include chemical additives. So, anybody (even people with sensitive skin) can use it without worrying about irritation or inflammation.
7. Heals Skin Infections Quickly:
As said in the previous point, goat milk can soothe our skin without causing itchiness. On the other hand, it also offers effective anti-microbial effects. Therefore, the soap made from it can easily be used to heal skin infections, such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and contact dermatitis faster.
8. Maintains pH Balance Of The Skin:
Goat milk soap helps balance the pH level of our body perfectly. It has been found that goat milk contains a certain fatty acid named caprylic acid, which lowers the pH balance of the soap and makes it almost similar to that of the human body. As a result, our skin can absorb most of the nutrients from the soap and prevent the attack of germs successfully.
9. Repairs Damaged Skin Faster:
Goat milk is enriched with alpha hydroxyl acids, which removes dead skin cells and encourage the growth of fresh new cells in our body. It helps in repairing damaged skin, giving us a young and vibrant look.
10. Protects From Skin Cancer:
Goat milk soap contains lots of selenium, which was proved by scientists, can protect our skin from the damaging ultraviolet rays of the sun, keeping skin cancer at bay.

Over the last decade, soy candles have become a popular alternative to their paraffin counterparts. Savvy consumers are opting for these plant-based eco-gems, whether they’re entertaining, relaxing in the evening, or simply looking to fragrance their home in style. But how much do we really know about soy wax candles? Where does soy wax come from? Are soy wax candles environmentally-friendly? Is soy a superior alternative to paraffin wax? Well, read on, we’ve come up with our TOP 10 facts about soy wax candles…
1. Made from the beans of the soy plant
Soy wax is made from the beans of the soy (known as soya in the UK) plant. This means that soy wax is a vegetable wax and is therefore vegetarian and vegan-friendly. During the manufacturing process, the soy beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled and then rolled into flakes. Next, the oil from the flakes is extracted, then transformed into the familiar solid soy wax by a process called hydrogenation. Interestingly, hydrogenation is also the process that turns oil into margarine!
Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from a finite resource (petroleum), soy candle wax is derived from a renewable resource, the soy plant, which can be grown over and over again. This means that soy wax is a sustainable commodity.
Soy candles are biodegradable, which is a tick in the eco-friendly box. This means that the wax can be broken down by micro-organisms and effectively becomes part of the earth again, re-used in one way or another.
4. No harmful fumes
You don’t need to worry about any negative side-effects of burning soy candles because they do not produce any harmful fumes. You and your family are in safe hands and can breathe easy. This makes burning soy healthier than paraffin wax, which, some studies have shown, emit toxins into the air, which can be harmful, particularly when burnt frequently in enclosed spaces (Kok et al., 2004). But be aware that some companies will describe their candle as being made from soy wax, even if only a very small proportion of the wax is soy, so make sure you buy 100% natural wax.
5. Perfect for aromatherapy
Essential oils are normally distilled from parts of a plant, such as its leaves, bark, roots or flowers; they are the concentrated essence of plants and that’s why they smell so great. Aromatherapy uses essential oils, such as lavender, ylang ylang, clary sage, teatree, lemongrass, orange, geranium, and bergamot to enhance our physical and mental wellbeing. It is well-known that lavender can really help with sleep and relaxation. Because soy wax is natural and has a low melting point, it makes an excellent partner for essential oils. The addition of essential oils provides us with not just a scented candle, but an aromatherapy candle. AromaWeb state that holistic aromatherapy emphasises the importance of using natural ingredients in aromatherapy, such as soy. So this rules out paraffin wax! Buyer beware – some candle sellers will combine a very small quantity of essential oils with inferior artificial fragrances, so make sure you look for those fragranced with 100% essential oils.
6. Burns cleanly
Soy candles burn cleanly. This means that you avoid that unpleasant black smoke that you can often get puffing out of paraffin candles. You can rely on having a clean-looking candle to style your home with because you won’t get a dark residue lining your candle container or marking other surfaces. Keeping the wick trimmed and keeping candles away from draughts is a good way to ensure any candle smoke is reduced.
7. Longer lasting
Soy candles last for a long time because of their low melting temperature, so you can burn your candle for longer whilst you relax in the bath. In fact, soy wax candles can burn for an astonishing 50% longer than paraffin wax alternatives which have a higher melting point. This makes them great value for money.
8. Superb scent throw
Scent is, well, essential in a scented candle! Soy wax candles have an excellent scent throw. This means that you can really smell the wonderful aroma of your candle and you don’t have to be sitting right next to it. Additionally, the scent is long-lasting, so you should be able to smell it for longer. Soy candles can be scented with essential oils, so you can enjoy their natural therapeutic aromas, rather than being subjected to inferior artificial fragrances.
9. Easily cleaned up
We all know that sinking feeling when we spill something sinister onto our carpet, sofa or clothes. Traditional waxes like paraffin are difficult to remove. With soy wax spillages, there’s no need to panic because splashes can easily be cleaned up. Whether it gets on our clothes, soft furnishings or favourite rug, you can simply clean it up with a cloth soaked in hot soapy water because soy wax is water-soluble.
Soy wax is a safer choice for candle-buyers. Because soy wax burns at a lower temperature than paraffin wax, spillages are less likely to cause harm; soy wax is seen as a safer alternative for families, especially when children or pets are around. Of course, you should always follow safety precautions at all times when burning any candle and never leave children or animals unsupervised near burning candles.
